Within Primary Care, the introduction of the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS) has seen a lot of new roles introduced to General Practice. With this has also enable careers to develop with access to training funding and pathways for staff that didn’t exist before.

Testimonials

Hi, I’m Amy and currently work for the Confederation as a Trainee Nursing Associate within Synergy PCN. I have always had a passion for helping and supporting patients and first started my journey in health and social care as a Learning Disability Support Worker. However, deep down my dream job was to become a qualified nurse. The Confederation has helped me achieve this dream by supporting me to complete the Nursing Associate Apprenticeship at the University of West London whilst maintaining my job role within a GP practice. I have been on the course 7 months and it has greatly improved my clinical skills within practice, allowing me to perfect and enhance my development towards becoming a qualified nurse.

I’ve been working in the NHS for over 13 years, starting my career as a Porter at Hillingdon Hospital. The role really opened my eyes to not only how the NHS operates but also life itself; how important it is to really make the most of what we have and ensure patients are our priority when facing difficult times.
I had further experience in A&E and as a Lead Palliative Coordinator. This was where I gained an interest in Governance: conducting audits, escalating incidents, and managing patient feedback.
I was fortunate to be given an opportunity to join The Confederation in 2022 as a Governance Coordinator and have since progressed to become the Quality Governance Manager.
The Confederation has allowed me to understand the amount of effort that takes place in Primary Care supporting all patients in Hillingdon. The Confederation strives for a positive culture and continues to drive all staff members to succeed which I am proud to work for.
